Fresh Install

CANDLER, NORTH CAROLINA -- This was a fun one! The customer had extremely bad sulfur in their well water - so bad, that the water coming out of the faucet was dark grey. The smell was very potent and long-lasting. This well water also has sediment, heavy iron, and hardness.

For the sediment, we installed a settling tank (far right), which gives the homeowner a hands-off approach of managing the sediment load. Then, we added twin iron filters, a canister filter, water softener, and twin carbon filters. To address such powerful sulfur, we installed a metered chlorine injection system to inject chlorine into the water before it enters the filtration. The carbon filters then remove the chlorine before the water heads to the rest of the house - getting rid of the chlorine AND the sulfur taste/odor.

"Why twin tanks," you ask? This home has the capability of using a lot of water and sleeping many guests. In which case, extra contact time with the media is needed in order to remove the contaminants from the water. Since the install, we have made another visit to check on the water and, wow, what a huge difference!
