Locally owned since 1984
The core ethos of Mountain Water systems is to treat others the way in which you wish to be treated. This policy of caring, without exception, for every person, customer, and employee that walks through our doors, is the reason we have grown to become the largest, and most trusted, water filtration company in the Asheville area.
As an engineer-owned business, we believe in continuing education and embracing a culture of continuous improvement. We are constantly learning and innovating so that we can offer the most updated equipment, accurate information, and thorough solutions on the market.
Our wonderful staff is the backbone of the company and its culture. Our team consists of the most honest and reliable people you will ever meet. We have chosen to remain a small company because we will never compromise when it comes to hiring exceptional people, so you can be confident that our services will be top notch every time. Our team always asks themselves a very simple question before making any recommendations; “what would we do if this was our family’s water?”
Whether you're looking for a whole-house filtration system, a custom solution for your business, or ongoing maintenance and service, Mountain Water Systems has the expertise and dedication to deliver the results you need.
We know that trust is earned every day, and would like to take a moment to thank everyone who has placed their trust in us.
Sincerely,
The Mountain Water Systems Team
John spent his teen years working with his father as a General Contractor and dealt with all aspects of residential construction including plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and HVAC systems. He went on to attend Georgia Tech and earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, John spent the next decade as a civilian engineer overseeing maintenance operations for the US Navy's aircraft carrier and submarine nuclear fleet.
Having grown up frequently visiting Western North Carolina with his family, John fell in love with the area and has spent much of his adult life visiting friends in Asheville, where he met his now wife. In 2016, John left the DOD to move to Asheville and take over operations of Mountain Water Systems with Michael Mathews, and has applied his engineering and chemistry experience to improve water filtration in the Asheville area ever since.
Water filtration has come a long way - and not just the look and feel of the company...
With an ongoing thirst for knowledge, improvement, and optimization, Mountain Water Systems continues to keep a finger on the pulse of technology, which allows us to improve our water equipment options.
After all, technology is ever evolving - including water treatment, conditioning, and filtration... and we've come a long way! We know more today than we've ever known and this will always be the case. Our customers can rest assured knowing that our systems will not only stand the test of time, but will remain resilient, cutting edge, effective, and efficient.
That's not to say the old technology doesn't work, necessarily, but things like efficiency, capability, cost, and ease of servicing are major advantages of our modern valves. We are particularly excited about bluetooth technology incorporated into the computer board, which we are in the process of implementing.
Another function we're pretty excited about is water metering. Valves we install have a meter that allows us to track flow rates and usage statistics. This option is particularly helpful in optimizing water softener salt consumption, reducing water usage (by optimizing regeneration settings), and potentially discovering plumbing issues!
Valves we install are made in the USA, customizable, programmable, and completely serviceable. We keep every part in stock on the van. Since upgrading our valves, we have been able to run these things through the ringer to see what they can handle... our conclusion? Impressive. However, we will always seek improvement and continue to provide expertise in this ever evolving industry.
