how to collect a raw water sample:

STEP 1: Locate the pressure tank (short/large, blue or grey tank, and it might say "well mate") typically located in basement, garage, crawlspace, or pump house. Alternatively: locate the well head, typically under a "fake rock" or in a pump house.

STEP 2: Connect a water hose to the bottom of the pressure tank (or well head) hose bib.

STEP 3: Let the water run outside or in a drain for 5 minutes. If you have a large pressure tank, let water run for 15 minutes.

STEP 4: Collect the sample in a plastic water bottle or mason jar, filled to the top, and put the cap on securely.

STEP 5: bring the sample to our office, as soon as possible: 171 Weaverville Rd, Asheville, NC 28804.

If you suspect sulfur is coming from the well, fill a 5 gallon bucket and smell the water in the bucket while it is filling to see if sulfur odor is present.

How to collect a TREATED water sample:

STEP 1: collect the water sample from the cold side of the kitchen sink in a plastic water bottle or mason jar, filled to the top, and put the cap on securely.
